The elected Assessors contract with an Assessor’s Agent to prepare the Town’s Valuation. This process is performed annually and consists of assessment of new buildings, assessment of new parcel split from existing parcels, updating ownership records and preparation of tax map changes.
The Assessor’s Agent also maintains a record of tax exemptions, personal property tax records, reviews properties for which abatements are requested, etc.
Donna Hays, Tax Assessor for the Town of West Paris, is in the office on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month from 8:00am to 3:00pm. Members of the public may call the office staff at 207-674-2701, during regular office hours, to schedule an appointment with Donna if you are in need of assistance.
