West Paris Vulnerability Assessment Survey & Forum Dates
Attention West Paris community members! We need you!
Do you live, work, or spend a lot of time in West Paris? CEBE is conducting a Vulnerability Assessment for the Town of West Paris. Although it is called a “vulnerability” assessment, it’s more of an assessment of the town’s strengths and needs to develop recommendations for community resilience.
You can help West Paris become more resilient to extreme weather and other climate impacts and win a $100 Hannaford gift card!
Join us for community forums on Thu, Sept. 10th, 6-7 pm, and Sat, Oct. 3rd, 10-11 am, at the West Paris Town Office (25 Kingsbury Street) and on Zoom. All are welcome, and free snacks will be provided! Feel free to join both forums or just one. Each forum attended will enter you into a raffle for a $100 Hannaford gift card.
Thursday, September 10th, 6-7 pm
Saturday, October 2rd, 10-11 am
This assessment will include gathering historical weather and environmental data, populations/census data, and infrastructure data. It will also include a community-wide survey, stakeholder interviews, and community forums. At the end of the assessment, we will write up a detailed report with our findings and recommendations for community resilience projects. Through this assessment process, we will also be funded to help West Paris write another Community Action Grant to implement recommendations at no cost to the town! Each assessment is different depending on the interests and needs of the community.
If transportation or funding are barriers for you joining these forums, please reach out, and we will do our best to ensure you can participate.
